Let me say this about that.. Obesity in the USA

I came across this post first on What's For School Lunch Blog  and followed it to here--->HCG Diet Information Blog  It is below my thoughts of course, as of course I am going to get my say in first!

How many people really feel the United States is in a downward spiral of obesity?  According to this information, 2/3 of the USA is either overweight or obese.  Okay...  well it's not like I have encountered ever single person in the USA.. and yes, I do see some heavy people but seriously... I think 2/3's is a bit on the high side.  When you look at the curb of what is considered overweight or obese.. I get a little disturbed.  I am 5'3" and at about 120.  I am in the "normal" range.. however I am fairly small boned.  Yet I know other women around my same height that are right around the 140 to 150 range and they don't look overweight to me.  Are there fat American's.. yes.. and there are starving Americans.  But I don't think being 20 pounds or so "overweight" should factor into the 2/3's of the American stats.  Anything could have caused a 20 pound weight gain.  Did they survey every American?  Did they ask them if their current weight was typical of them? Did they take into considerations of what may be happening in their life at the time?
Steak and potato.. a real meal.

BACON!!!!  No need to say anymore!

And seriously.. you can preach to me till you are blue in the face that I should eat healthy.  Whatever!!!  Seriously.. have you looked at the cost of eating healthy????  And I am sorry.. I was raised on protein being MEAT!  Big fat thick juicy cuts of meat! Slabs of bacon!  Eggs!!  Whole milk!  Potatoes and gravy!  Not lettuce and foo foo food.  To me that is chicken feed.. Let the chicken and cows, and pigs eat healthy and in turn when I eat them.. I am eating healthy.. ;-)

So anyhow.. on to what HCG Diet Information Blog has to say about fatties in America.  <insert rolling eyes here>

  1. Great post. I am finally in the overweight section and I am here because I want to for me and not because of that chart. My idea of obese does not match that of the 'experts.' If I were in the normal range I would likely look sick.

  2. Very interesting post! I am impressed with how you described obesity, in my case, 5'2 and 110lbs wants my build this way, and I can eat everything I wanted too, I don't care about oops..as long as I know I am healthy that's enough for me:)This is my first time here and happy that I feel comfortable in sharing here with your post.:) Thanks a lot!:)
